  • Removing HD pulldown.

I need to add some effects to footage that was shot on the Varicam. It was shot at 24p, digitized at 720p (59.94). That’s the media I have.

If this were NTSC footage, I’d remove the pulldown in “interperet footage”, do my effects in a 24fps workspace, and then add a pulldown upon rendering.

But since it’s 720p, there are no fields to remove. And if I get the footage into a correct 24fps workspace, how do I render it back to 59.94p?

Any thoughts? I’m running AE 6.5.

If you have FCP, you need to convert the 59.94 footage to 23.98 using the frame rate convertor. Go to this Ken Stone article and go down a few paragraphs to the links in the article.

If you don’t have FCP, you’ll need something else to convert the files. Check the Panasonic Varicam COW forum for more.
