  Items in Timeline NOT being found in Project Bins

  I’m experiencing an odd problem in PPro CS 5.5. Been using Premiere for years and this has only happened in the last day or so.

  I’ve numerous clips, video and stills, where if I right click in the timeline and select reveal in Project, aren’t showing up in the bins. If I select the clip and the Properties, they’re in the drive folder where they’ve been placed.

  Oddly, the clips in the timeline are playing fine, but I need to do some replacements. Obviously, without being able to find them in the bin, I can’t replace or relink. For the moment, I have to import a new clip and match cut to the timeline element. A real pain obviously.

  Does anyone know what might be going on here? Is there any way to repair this and what might have caused this in the first place? I haven’t updated or installed anything new that i can recall, and the project is one I’ve worked on over the past couple months.

  Something has gone haywire.
  Close Premiere and restart while holding down alt+shift
  This will clear your preferences and cache.
  See if that will help.
  In any case make sure you are on the latest update.

  Ah. Very good to know for future reference.

  However, what I tried and it worked was to create new project and bank sequence. I saved, closed, opened the problem project and did a drag select of everything, then performed a copy. I then opened the new project and after a few moments was able to Paste into the empty sequence. Everything in the timeline was in place plus all the assets in the Bin were now there.
