Add multiple dissolves with specific transition length?
I’d like to add transitions to about 100 cuts in a sequence in premiere with half second dissolves on each cut. (Using Sequence > Apply default transition to selection) The default transition seems to be about a whole second. I don’t want to have to go back to all my transitions and adjust them one by one.
When I was using Media Composer I could select all my clips in a sequence, add a dissolve to all of them, and select exactly how many frames I wanted my transitions to be, and then apply it.
Is there a way to do this in PP?

Hi Joel,
You can set the Default Transition Duration in Edit > Preferences > General. Don’t know that there is any easy way to change them globally after the fact, set duration before applying them

awesome thanks jeff. is there a way to do this to clips thats are not touching? I have several video tracks and I’d like to add transitions to the top track clips but it won’t seem to add the transitions to clips that are not touching. See my screen shot:

You can manually drag/drop dissolves onto the upper clips. I don’t use any automated method so am not familiar with process or limitations for that. You can also use the Opacity adjustment line and keyframes and get the same result directly on the clips.
