I am a PC person that works in Premiere Pro.
I am co-editing a project with someone that is a Mac
Person. If we have identical drives- will we be able
To share sequences in across both OS platforms? -

Yes.
You will have to do a quick re-link of media, though.
It’s worth noting that I have had some trouble with this when re-linking projects with duplicate filenames. For instance, if you have several different MVI_0001 files because you were shooting with a 5D, or several 4CH001I.WAV files because you used a zoom recorder… when premiere asks you where those files are, and there are 5 or 6 different version of the file, there’s absolutely no way for you to know which version it wants.
To return to your question, though, if you don’t have duplicate filenames like this, it will be fine.

Some formats may require the purchase of 3rd party codecs/software on the PC side. Like if you have footage from the mac side that is HDV codec but in a quicktime container. This is more of a case by case issue and not a general problem but you should do a few tests firsts so you know both machines can read and work with the types of media in your project. MacDrive may be necessary if you are working from a Mac harddrive on your PC.

That’s pretty terrible. Premiere doesn’t retain the clips timecode or length or anything that can help you determine which file to relink to?

No. Big problem / oversight, in my opinion, given the prominence of DSLRs and Zoom recorders.

Believe me, Im sure that this kind of Media Management is on the op of their list for the future. They have gotten an ear full from many users on this topic. They get it. It just depends what kind of a coding monster it is to correct.
