Does anyone know if Adobe Bridge embeds metadata in the actual video files?
Windows 7, 64 bit
Adobe Production Suite 5.5.xAs you may guess, DSLR file have no useful metadata as far as scene, shot, log notes etc go.
So I am trying to use Adobe Bridge to add metadata to my DSLR video files. These are from a Canon 7D, in a Quicktime format.
It all works fine. It’s pretty slick. Bringing the files into Premiere works just fine.
But if I look at the metadata of the files in Windows Explorer, none of the information I added is visible. If I use a separate metadata reader, none of that scene/shot data is visible. If I change some of the meta data via Windows Explorer (for example, Title) I cannot find if that information has changed in Adobe Bridge. I can’t find the text I entered at all. But the external metadata reader can read that data fine.
I REALLY want to make sure that the metadata I changed goes along with the file, and isn’t in some Adobe Bridge database, that I have no way of backing up. When I have to update my computer and reinstall, if it’s a database, then I will lose all the metadata…
This also is highly significant in the case of software like DualEyes that syncs dual system audio with video shot on a DSLR. One of the options is to replace the audio of the movie, with the audio of the audio recorder. But if the Adobe Bridge metadata is not embedded in the movie, then it will be lost when the new file is created…
Thanks for any help.
