    Hello all,

Friend just turned me on to Magic Bullet Looks and WOW! What a quick/easy way to get a truly pro looking and uniform aesthetic. Great work Red Giant!

I am working on a documentary shot on two cameras with very disparate looks. In almost every scene both the exposure and color is very different.

How would you approach getting to a uniform application of Looks?

I am thinking about performing a neutral color matching pass with the Three Way Color Corrector then applying Looks over that. Will that work? Will the rendering become obscenely long?

Any way to speed up the rendering of Looks? It can take forever to make previews.

    Any ideas appreciated.

    Thanks

We use MBL extensively, and after speaking with the folks from Red Giant over the years at NAB, came up with this method. ‘Looks’ was based upon plain vanilla video. So…we zeroed out all of our in-camera settings and make sure to religiously white-balance each shot if we even suspect a lighting change. This will give you an close similarity in the initial ‘look’ of the clips, making it easier to develop a ‘Look’ in MBL, then save as a preset and simply apply that preset to similar scenes. From there, if you notice any differences between shots, they should only be minor ones.

Hello, did not know where to go exactly to get some help here… The problem I am having in MBLooks is renedering out the Haze/Flare filter. I can see the effect in the timeline and editor, but once rendered out and looking at the final edit, the other effects/looks show up, but no haze/flare?
The same goes with the pincushion effect…
Wondering if im doing something wrong and why just these effects do not show up when rendered out…?

    Would love some help!

    Thanks
