A feature request I just made for CS 6.5 that I think could really speed things up
Now that the major issues in PPro CS5.5 are being tackled in 6 and we’re at the beginning of the development cycle again, I figured now would be a good time to start making requests for 6.5.
I just did one that I thought would be a tremendous time saver, and was curious what others thought of it.
I just submitted a request for what I call “cascading effect presets.” Basically it’s a new type of effect preset that would work like a CSS rule- when you apply the preset to multiple clips that you want to have the same look, and then make changes to the properties of the effects in the preset, the changes are reflected in every clip where the preset is applied. This way, if you have many clips that you want to have the same look or effects applied to them, and then you change your mind about the look you want them to have, you can make the change and move on without having to copy the effect and paste it to all of the other clips where it is applied. This could be especially helpful for large projects.
And, before anyone says anything- I know adjustment layers were added to tackle this same issue, and they will- but for many situations it will be very helpful. For something that cuts back and forth between different looks, or if there are several short clips that need the same look applied, or several areas spread throughout the project with the same look (especially if they in multiple sequences), I think this could really come in handy.
So… Who’s with me on this?
