  Premiere Pro 2.0 Stills magnification

  I am importing many photographic stills. The source viewer shows the images as the correct size, that is, full-frame. When I drag the stills to the timeline, the image is the correct size on the timeline but the program monitor shows the image greatly magnified (the middle 10+- of the still image). Playing the timeline reveals that same program monitor magnification. Why? What can a man do? Jerry

  How about upgrading to the most recent version of Premier? 😀

  Sounds like the still is larger than your video frame. PPro 2.0 may or may not have this but rightclick the image in the timeline and select “Scale to frame size”, otherwise you’ll have to manually adjust the scale of the image – Position, scale, and opacity should be available under the “effects control” panel.

  Under Preferences/General you will find a checkbox: default scale to frame size.

  So the resolution of your stills does not match the resolution of your editing sequence.

  the source viewer will always show images at actual size.

  the program monitor will always lock to what the sequence is set to.

  so prior to importing your still photos into your project, if you set the preference Ann notes in the previous thread….

  then your stills will scale to the size of your sequence placed on the timeline. (note that your effects controls will still say 100%)

  this may or may not be what you want….

  and big question is…what are you trying to deliver? because that dictates how you should set your sequence up initially…

  Forgot to mention: when checking to default scale to frame size, in Pro2 one has to reimport all the stills.
  Otherwise it wont work.
