Hey guys! Im having serious render issues with Premiere CS5. I always
use to render the work area before the export of a session. But this
time there is a serious glitch during the rendering: The progression
bar takes an insane amount of time. Even though the Sequence is just 2
minutes long. For example: It takes 30-40 minutes to get from 90% to
95%!! The percentage number just goes back and forth. I shot a 20
second clip where you can see this weird glitch

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MR_TGW6hLhA&context=C4ed381fADvjVQa1PpcFP9KzFRiX7LQnV7VMzVlf1eSBV1JS7qhgg=

does anyone have an idea where this glitch could come from ?

btw: when I go directly on “export” instead of rendering the sequence,
    everything works fine!

    cheers
    mic

I take it the clips in question are not effects-heavy?

My question is why are you doing this workflow?

Rendering the effects in work area and then immediately rendering the entire project isn’t really a beneficial workflow except under very specific circumstances.

The only workflow in which I would do this is with previews set to uncompressed with an effects heavy render and two pass encoding. Rendering with “use previews” selected under these circumstances would take gobs of disk space (do to the uncompressed preview files) but would prevent all the effects from being rendered again on the second pass.

If your preview file format isn’t set to uncompressed then it’ll actually take longer, and you shouldn’t use compressed previews in your final render anyway do to generation loss. (and of course if “use previews” isn’t checked then you’re completely waisting your time.)

You wouldn’t happen to be a former FCP user would you?
