Could someone please recommend the best settings for exporting a 1080 sequence for use on youtube? the default settings for widescreenHD are 720p and it won’t let me change the resolution. I’ve tried some settings myself but find that the video is not playing back perfectly smooth online.

    thanks in advance!

If you raise the Level so will your frame width and height.
You can also select a HDTV preset, its basically the same.

Ann is right. I was kind of baffled by this at first. But after I looked into it evidently Mpeg4 has different levels. Level 3.2 (which is the Widescreen YouTube preset) has a frame size limit. Level 4.0 will allow for full 1920×1080 video.
The latest specification suggestions (including 1080p) for YouTube can be found here.

thanks for the replies. I’ll try again with just changing the level setting.

What about matching the framerate? My original footage is 23.976, the default with youtube export is 24fps, should i export at 23.976 or 24?
