  Canon 7D Footage WASHED OUT when imported into Premiere Pro CS5.5 Windows

  I have a really big problem:

  When I view the native clips from my Canon 7D through VLC and WMP they look perfect. As soon as I import them into Adobe PP they are instantly washed out and loose all color vibrance and intensity.
  I have searched and searched online with no luck. When I export using the Sequence settings in PP and open back up in VLC or WMP it has lost it’s quality and looks like it did in PP.

  Any help? Running Windows 7 64bit with CS5.5

  Same effect is present in After Effects CS 5.5 as well.

  Have you looked at a histogram view either in Premiere (not sure if it has one) or After Effects? I’m wondering if AE or Premiere are opening the files in rather than a 0 – 255 scale, maybe a 16 to 245 scale, or something which greys out the blacks and whites? There may be preference settings which would correct this. I’m sure others who know more about this than I do will weight in, but it sounds as if this is the problem.

  Same issue here. My Canon T2i footage looks contrasted in windows media player and Sony Vegas Pro 10 but looks really washed out in After Effects cs5.5. I tried changing the color management in the project settings but any of those would work. Been looking for a solutión without success.
