Any ideas on why ppro 5 isn’t taking my 48khz 16bit WAV files?
Says it has a problem with the compression? I posted earlier on this and had a few responses but nothing has worked yet. Currently I have an mp3 being used but would prefer the uncompressed wav since this project will serve as a master that will be compressed several times by different people once everything is completed.

Will it open in Soundbooth?

Good troubleshoot question. Yes it did open in Soundbooth. I then saved it as a new wav in SB. PPro did let me import that wav file.
Obviously my problem lies with Audition. I also noticed today (and remembered another time) that Audition would not open (says could not find audio device: check device settings) IF ppro was open. When I close ppro, audition opens and seems to work fine. This could have happened since my last adobe update which was a week or so ago.
I’m a little curious what the benefits/downsides would be to switching over to soundbooth vs audition for my day to day stuff. I have not really taken a liking to soundbooth and have loved using audition. Never really understood why they did away with audition except for the purpose of pushing the loops and music side of soundbooth.

Weill you mentioned PPRO 5 not 5.5 so I figured you didn’t have Audition. So, could you get it open in Audition? Whenever I have a problem with audio I run the gamut on the Creative Suite to see who likes it. After Effects usually handles it, Soundbooth is good, Media Encoder can be good too. Can’t think of the last time I had something that I couldn’t get open one way or another.

I do have Audition 2.0. That was where the audio file was created. Any of the various options for the different wav forms audition can create would not open in premiere. I was able to open them in soundbooth and then reexport them though. My ppro is 5 (not 5.5). I guess I didn’t realize they went back to Audition on 5.5.
