  .MTS files import into premiere with no audio

  I am shooting with a sonynx70 and when I import the .MTS file into premiere (presets AVCHD 1080p tracks 3-sterio 3-5.1
  I get video but no audio. This is stumping the folks at adobe as well. any ideas here? Im stuck without being able to use that native mts format

  Delete footage from Premiere
  Trash all your media cash.
  Delete all pkf files if you can find any.
  Restart Premiere with holding ctrl+shift+alt.
  Import again in new project.

  Is the lack of audio in the source monitor or on the timeline?

  We have seen lots of instances where audio doesn’t play back in the source monitor (in our case mainly from HDV sources.) As soon as they’re popped on the timeline, the audio appears and plays back without issue.

  When you do put those clips on the timeline can you at least see the audio waveforms or is there no audio attached?

  thanks for taking the time with regard to my problem. No audio in either the sourse monitor, or the timeline. My quick solution was to take the files into Brorsoft and convert to mp4’s, then use those in adobe. I know audio is in the mts because I can play in the brorsoft preview window, and the converted mp4’s have sound. So I went out and shot some video with the original camera at the original settings (1080p)and adobe(at the same sequence settings) brought it in with audio. not sure what happened. I hope it was an isolated incident.

  I have a Sony FS100. In 1080 60P LPCM audio mode, it doesn’t think there is an audio track, it does work with AC3 audio in that mode as well as LPCM in all other modes. Not sure if this is related to your problem but is is a NX cam issue.

  i’m a newbie here and was having the same problem. i shoot with a Sony NX-5 in the AVCHD codec, yielding me mts files. nice to see they can be edited here natively as was not the case in FCP. anyway, i would drag an mts into a newly-created AVCHD sequence. video, no audio. every time.

  so i made a new sequence. chose a random codec (DVCHD in this case), dragged an mts into it – it asked me if i wanted to change the sequence setting, which i did) and voila! the clip had audio, as did all mts clips following.

  hopefully that helped out someone else…
