  PPro RED SCREEN .mxf files

  Hi all. New to the forums.

  I’m having playback issues with Premiere Pro. I recently got independently shot footage from a Sony XDCam HD 35 in .mxf files, and during playback in PPro I get super lag (15-30sec after hitting play to play), and when it doesn’t lag the footage plays normally then cuts out to a RED SCREEN.

  Not sure what to do about this; I’ve been forum surfing and have tried
  – importing from media bay as opposed to using CMD+I
  – copying files to hard drive vs. running from the external the footage came from
  – cutting down preview and playback resolutions
  – experimented with different sequence presets

  The files I’m working with range from 100MB to 1GB (minus the audio) and my computer specs are as follows:

  27inch iMac
  Mac OS X 10.7.2
  2.93 GHz Intel Core i7
  4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM
  ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB

  And the files I’m working with are as follows:

  MXF (OP-1a) (XDCAM HD 25)
  35.0 Mbps, 1440*1080 (16:9), at 29.970 fps, MPEG Video (Component) (Version w) (Main@High) (CustomMAtrix / BVOP) (XDcAM HD 35)

  Any help will be much appreciated

  Did you discover a solution to your problem? I’m having the same issue with Premiere CS6 and footage from a C100 camera.
