  dv pal 720×576 convert to web

  Hi there,

  I want to convert my dv pal 720×576 interlaced video …so you can open on a computer/web.

  I read an article saying to convert to 788×576 square pixels …is that the correct conversion?

  That is correct if its 4:3 footage.
  Widescreen would be 1050×576.

  yeah its 720×576 4:3 footage straight from a handycam

  Its just everywhere else says (particularly Vimeo) 640×480 however when I do that there are thin black bars at the top and bottom …if I wanted 640×480 would I also need to crop it by a certain amount of pixels?
