  • Prem Pro 5.5 won’t import Audio XML files (general error)

    Hi

I’ve just used my new Canon XF300 for the first time and have run into a problem.

When downloading the Memory cards the footage was converted into XMF (visual) and XML (audio) files

When I then tried to import the assets into Prem Pro (CS 5.5 fully updated) the visuals went in fine.

However, all of the corresponding audio files (to each clip) did not import due to a ‘general error’.

When investigating this fault online all I seem to find is reference to Final Cut XML file faults ?

But these XML files have been generated during a straight transfer from the Canon XF300 into my MAC

So, can anyone please explain why this is and how I can fix/re format these audio files to fit Prem Pro?

Apologies if this is a rookie error, but I have searched the forums and online with no luck.

Any constructive advice and solutions will be really appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance …

Are you importing using the Media Browser?

    Hi

No, I just imported it directly from the memory card.

However, I have just found out that the error was all mine (of course)

The XML file had nothing to do with the sound, as this was included in the XMF file.

Premiere Pro was creating an audio time lag as it ‘rendered’ each clip brought into the project …

Someone very kindly put me straight on this and thank you for replying to my post.

    Many kind regards,

    B
