I hope some here can add to this. This is from my ongoing issue in the Matrox forums
    other post

Here is the first part of my thread
    I have 2 issues
    1. No external video from the program window
    2. Source window will only play newly generated items and not footage.

Both issues are from the fallowing Matrox preset:

    General
    Editing mode: Matrox Player
    Timebase: 23.976fps

    Video Settings
    Frame size: 1280h 1080v (1.5000)
    Frame rate: 23.976 frames/second
Pixel Aspect Ratio: DVCPRO HD (1.5)
    Fields: No Fields (Progressive Scan)

    Audio Settings
    Sample rate: 48000 samples/second

    Default Sequence
    Total video tracks: 3
    Master track type: Stereo
    Mono tracks: 0
    Stereo tracks: 1
    5.1 tracks: 0
    Submix mono tracks: 0
    Submix stereo tracks: 0
    Submix 5.1 tracks: 0

    1. If I create a newItem –> B&T it will play on the external monitor only from the source window, when I add it to the program it will not play externally.

Anytime I drag in my footage(hvx200 1080p24) to the source window, it will not play on the external, but fine in the source window

Basically I have followed all the troubleshooting steps there but PrePro will not output 1080@24
    All plays fine in FCP

Is there so other type of Matrox preset to use with 1080pa24 footage?

I have updated the MX02 to 2.2.3.0043 and the associated firmware upgrade
    I am running 10.6.7 on a MBP 4GB

    Any suggestions?
    Regards

Quick question; have you installed the Premiere Pro 5.5.1 update? I just did, and while I’m on 10.7.1, the MXO2 is running better than it has in a long while. The MXO2 (mine also has MAX) used to simply not play out of Premiere most of the time, now it seems quite reliable (this after just one evening though so gains of salt and all that.)

https://blogs.adobe.com/premiereprotraining/2011/09/adobe-premiere-pro-cs5-5-update-bug-fixes-mac-osx-v10-7-lion.html for the update if you need it.

Adobe doesn’t mention Matrox specifically in this release, but Matrox did explicitly note Premiere Pro 5.5.1 in the latest MXO2 driver release (even though 5.5.1 wasn’t out yet.)

Thanks, I’ll give that a shot. PrPro is really having issues with MX02 and DVCPRO footage.

I did think it was odd that after I installed CS5.5 there were no updates available other then some RAW camera. Does the updater in the suite just not work and I have to manually figure out what the latest versions are?

    Hi Eric,

For some reason – when Adobe announced the PPro update – they noted it wouldn’t be available through the Adobe updater for a week or two. Not sure why….

I found the MXO2 equally flaky with AVCCAM. It’s better now, I was editing 1080p24 AVCCAM for the last couple of hours and the MXO2 didn’t quit on me once.

That gives me hope then! I guess I am spoiled by FCP & Color just working all the time with the MX02. Have you tried your 1080p24 AVCCAM in After Effects? I have noticed that @least with my DVCPRO footage it is stretched(taller with black bars on the left and right) on the ext monitor, but fine in the comp window.

Issue has been resolved, PrPro only outputs psf@23.98 and my monitor does not support that.
