I’m trying to fix a shot where the exposure changes gradually by using the gamma correction effect, and keygraming the gamma correction to essentially reverse the issue with the exposure. However, I’ve noticed that the gamma effect is somehow quantized, and can only be in whole numbers. Therefore, even if you keyframe from 10 to 12, it doesn’t make a smooth transition, and instead jumps from 10 to 11 to 12 along the time indicated by the keyframes. (For me it’s about one whole number a second.) Does anyone know how to actually make this smooth? And if not, is there any other way I can fix this problem that anyone can think of?

    Thanks!

Have you tried to use the Levels effect?

    or the Fast Colour Corrector?

    Perhaps the auto will work.

I have in the past and continue to prefer to cut the problem area and add the effect to “fix” the problem area and then use cross dissolve to find the right transition of looks with the length and position of the dissolve to assist in the timing of when and how long the transition needs to be.
