I film with a Canon 7D. When I open Premier I am prompted with the new sequence settings. I have tried everything to get my footage settings to match up with this. My footage is 1280 x 720 and I shoot at 60 fps. Can anybody help?

I can never get the footage to match up to the viewer, the clip is either too big or too small.

When you see the New Sequence window, press cancel and move right into the application. Drag and drop a clip on to the New Item button at the bottom of the Project panel. Doing so will make a sequence that matches your footage precisely.

    Try it and report back.

Awesome!! It works! I’ve always used Final Cut, but I’m trying to gain knowledge in other editing programs.

    Thank you so much!

Great it works! And good for you learning more NLEs. That way, you can never turn down a job because you don’t know a system.

Out of curiosity, what version did they implement this? Doesn’t seem to work in CS4 (I’ll be upgrading to CS6 this week).
