avi or mpeg4 file produces white image in Premiere
Hi,
I am working with a file that is saved as filename.avi, however when I check the codec details it says the following:
Video: codec: MS MPEG-4 Video v1 (MPG4) resolution: 320×240, frame rate 15
Audio: MPEG Audio layer 1/2/3 (mpga) 48000Hz 128 kb/s.I’m not sure if it is possible that it is a AVI file with a MPEG4 codec, but that is not really my concern. When I import into Premiere the video is just WHITE, though the audio seems to be working. In an attempt to troubleshoot, I’ve tried converting the file using VLC media player and Any Video Converter free software. With AVC the video quality is not acceptable. With VLC, the video is fine, but the audio is out of sync no matter what codec, file format I try to use. The original video files, which play on my computer fine, are not out of sync.
So my question has two parts:
1. First, any solution/thoughts regarding the original issue, which is the white screen. Have you ever heard of that? If I changed the sequence/project settings would it make a difference?
2. Second, what would cause the converted clips to be out of sync? How do you sync the audio in such a situation. Does it have to do with codec, bit rates, sample rates, frame rates?Bless your hearts if you can help me.
