  • Trim Window – Auto trim function?

First of many questions (Im sure) from a FCP switcher!

In the trim window, is there any way to do an auto trim. This involves previewing the transition and marking an in or an out on the fly. Thus you trim as you watch the cut happen. Or is this just an Avid and FCP thing.

Premiere does not have a punch-in ability – so no auto-trim. The playhead will always stop dead when you change an edit point (whether you’re in Trim mode, the timeline, or a monitor window).
Ironically (in your case), this functionality did exist before Adobe updated Premiere to “Pro” status 10 years ago.

Thanks a lot Chris. Damn, I really used that function a lot.
