    Hello,
Im editing this music video and making motion graphics for it too.
The shots are located in a messy hospital room and was shot pretty dark and collor corrected even darker. In a dark kakie green color.
On the set, they putted bleu key frames on the walls, with tracking points(taped on). Sins it was shot dark and the bleu has a lot of shadows, it alomost useless, exept for the tracking point.

So what i did is, just put the animation layer on the video layer, with the steady shots. But as you could suggest, I have to do the non-steadyshots aswell. To save time i didnt edit that much of them, cause it would take endless time. And also because they dont pay me mutch for this.

I never realy used the track motion, only for realy easy things.
These shots are realy fast, traveled, zoomed and very shakey. But this was ment to be and it has i nice look.
I used my book After affects in production of chris meyers. And its a great help, but its for version 5.0 and iom using 6.5. SO a lot of it is changed.
    The great problem is:
I use the track motion, i use a dummy for now for track 1, small solid.
The tracking gos, but the solid doesnt responds…
I tried ecvery setting, even use parenting, copying keyframes and nothing…..

Im getting realy frustrated here, ive been working to long on this one, cause i had some problem with my avid to to after effects before, so i want this to end.

    HELP

    Thanks
    Tielman

(hope its a little bit clear, my english isnt that very good)

    T.

    Peace

    2 things:

    1. As far as the blue screen, when they do the film transfer (or color correct from video) if there is keyeing involved, they should always do a clean and balanced pass for the compositor to get a matte off of. So you can pull a key off the clean version and use that on the colored corrected version.

    2. Try just doing raw track. Then copy paste the frames to the poistion parameter of a null layer. This null layer should move exactly on top of the track point if you had a good track. If this is the case then parent the image you want matchmoved to the null. It should now “Ride along” with the null. But the cool thing is becasue it’s prented, you are free to move the image around the screen on it’s own but it will still track with the null.
