I have the full Creative Suite 5 installed and licensed. I import and edit MTS files from Panasonic TM700 without difficulty. I double click a clip and put it in Source Monitor, but menu Clip > Analyze Content is grayed out and so is “Analyze” at the very bottom right of the Speech Analysis panel in Metalogging workspace. All the files have the read-only box unchecked. Must be something simple that I don’t know!!

    Hey there,

Did you find a solution to this issue? I’m having the same problem with an .aif file
I’m on PPro CS5 on Mac.
    Best,
    D.

Nope – never solved the problem. Sure wish I had. I’ve been manually transcribing interviews.

Also searching for an answer to this. I have MTS files from a Panasonic Lumix GH2 and Analyze content is grayed out. I have full read right permissions on all the files, and all have had their audio transcoded.

Did you retain the original file structure with the .MTS files? I’m finding that Premiere 5.5 really prefers if you keep the file structure intact if you are using raw files. With converted QT files it has no issues.
