  Transparency Lower Third

  I created a lower third with premiere pro cs5. I want to export this lower third to use it in other projects. But how can I do this to save transparency all around the graphic? (i already tried to export but i always get the black backround screen around the lower third)

  I forget to mention that there is also transperancy within the lower third

  If you made the lower third in the titler you can save it as a template otherwise save it as a Microsoft avi with the codec set to NONE and bit depth to 32.

  You know Premiere Pro lets you import a project, yes? You could build a ‘common’ project and import it into every new project that has that lower third.

  Or you could take the existing project and import it into a project you want that lower third in.

  Let me know if that makes sense.

  To build upon the other posts. Place the lower third on its own sequence. Then when you need it in another project you can click Import..project…then select the particular sequence you need and it will import only the media needed for that sequence. You used to be able to import titles when they were not saved as part of the project but not since CS3. One would think Adobe would let you import a title or a bin separately but perhaps no one has ever thought of that.

  This may be irrelevant – but why not create them in Photoshop (which preserves the transparency) and import them into Premiere?

  That is how we do ours and if we need to change/edit, the dynamic linking in Premiere auto-updates the .psd file when we update it in Photoshop…

  I created different movements within the lower third with premiere. I don’t think this is possible with photoshop.
