Hello there! I’ve been using this forum for a while and found a lot of useful information here. Thank you CreativeCOW for that!

Although, I usually get my answers by reading others’ posts I have a question that I think isn’t out there yet…

ok, here goes.. I have a project in PremierePro CS5 consisting of multiple assets, mainly videos and some pictures, and the vids span for about 13min – 15min long (and consume roughly 1.5Gbytes – 3Gbytes) but I use only 45sec to about a minute long for each. Is there a way in PremierePro CS5 to delete the parts of the vids that I don’t use and retain the part that I do in the project?

This can really save me disk space especially in the long run when I’ll produce more videos…

    Hi Vincent,

I personally never delete footage but I guess I depends on what is is.

If you produce videos for clients, you should include a couple a hard disks in your quote for archive/backup. Client usually understand that it’s needed unless they want to provide a hard drive themselves and keep it.

When you are done with the project, and can choose to trim and copy in a new location. This will result in a new folder with video files trimmed to the length of clips on the timeline.

Thank you! very useful. I usually store footage but now that my drive is getting full, I need to trim some older videos that I think would never use again.
