Hello guys, I’m new here. But I decided to create a post because I read all of them that I thought could help me and I did not find help.
I know that the subject is commum here. But that how it goes.
    well,,,,
I have a Sony HDV 1080i/MiniDV and I’m trying to capture in HDV.
I set up the Premiere CS4 for HDV. My cam is set to HDV. But__of course there is a “but”___ I’m still unable to capture the footage.
I can control de camera. Play.stop.bla.bla.bla but when I press REC on Premiere window the mensage is a blue screen with: The video is playing on the hardware.

    Thank you for the attention

That is correct. No preview in the capture window only on the camera lcd screen.
Are there no files transferring from tape to pc?

    yes.
    No file is transferring,.

What happen is if I set to capture in DV, it works.
When I set to do so in HDV no file is capture.
But all the settings on the Premiere and on the Camera are correctly according with all the information I read in the posts here on the site.

If you are playing an HDV recording, and you are able to capture in Premiere as a DV file, the camera is putting out a DV signal and not HDV.

HDV cameras will “downconvert” HDV to DV on the 1394 output. Go into camera menu and turn OFF the “i.Link Convt” feature. Power off camera, close Premiere. Turn camera (VTR) on again, PC will “see it”, then launch Premiere HDV project and it should work.
