    Hello,

Is there a way to drag only the video of a clip to the timeline or only the audio portion of a clip to the timeline?

For example….I edit a lot of commercials and I just started using Premiere. I have my music bed on the timeline and I find the clip that I want to use (it also has audio). When I drag it to the spot that I want to use it over the music bed, the audio of the video clip “covers up” the music bed. When I delete the audio from my video clip, a chunk of the music bed is also gone. Is there a way to drag just the video portion to the timeline? I tried control drag, alt drag, etc.

    Thanks!

Open your clip in the Source monitor. At the bottom of the screen are two icons–a film clip and an audio speaker. Select clip/speaker and drag to your video/audio to the timeline.
