    I have Windows 7 x 64bit with 12 Gigs of RAM.

When I simply open a project file with MXF video footage my RAM usage rockets up to 11.5 and crashes my system.

Allocating less or more RAM within the memory preferences does not solve problem.

Purchasing more RAM is not necessary, i have 12 GIGS, it’s sufficient.

No, I’m not doing heavy After Effects graphics, I’m doing nothing but having the project open and shuttling through it on the time line. Not even.

I’m on a paid project and I can’t even hold it open with my system, how am I the only person on the internet that has this problem?

The second i load the media my RAM climbs to absolute max and dies.

What’s the originating source? I have some P2 MXF footage I can play around with and help troubleshoot.

Are you dragging files into the bin or using the import command? (Silly question, but I use to be a tech support supervisor for an internet software company, exact steps can help a lot)

I”m using the Sony XDCAM codec at 1080 24fps/23.97

I just imported the whole folder directory of files.

    Any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem. Imported 80 minutes of MXF Raw footage – RAM are used up to 100%. Files are from new Canon XF-100 1080p 25 F.
Have you solved your problem yet ? thanks for reply
