New to Premeire Pro CS5
So I have a couple of questions.
Is there a way that I can group everything after I’ve cut everything up? instead of having to drag every little piece of footage together?And I would really like to use the icon view feature to set up each clip visually so I can see where I want everything. Is there a way to do this after I’ve cut everything into little clips on the timeline?

In CS5, after selecting all the clips, you can right click and select nest. Be careful, undoing it after further editing can be a pain, so when ever you do any nesting, duplicate your sequence first.
Or you can select all the clips you need grouped, right click, and select group.

Are you referring to the project panel. In the contextual menu (top right of the project panel), you can select thumbnail view.

yes, but my set up is in the left upper corner. I hit thumbnail view, but it only shows me the whole project that I imported and not the individual shots i cut. Also, I tried the nesting, but it nested everything together with the spaces that were left after I cut everything. I wanted to know if there was a way to group them together without the blank spaces that were left after cutting.

I misunderstood your question. You can’t really show the clips in your timeline in your project panel, although, you could double click on a clip to bring it in the source window and make a subclip.
You can also quickly see which clips are used in the timeline by going to the metadata display (project panel menu) and adding “video usage” as a column.

Nope, you will have to delete the spaces between the clips. You can actually select a space and hit delete, that will move the clips ahead accordingly.
