    Hi Folks

After years and years away from Pr, last one I used was 7. I got the CS5 version, yeah me. Normally I work with FCP, but now I need to use Pr. Only problem is, I made a film in AE with Aspect Ratio 1024×576 in FCP it’s easy you create a timeline and he automatically chances it to the Aspect Ratio of the clip you import.

In Pr, no such thing. I try to adjust it, but it never works. It even transformed it to 720×576 picture looked horrible.

I tried to do what they say here:
    https://help.adobe.com/en_US/premierepro/cs/using/WS58AFAEED-E173-4485-A4EA-B02FAD282E6A.html
    But no results.

If I change the Aspect Ratio in the settings I got the standard settings when I apply them.

    I do this:

    And I got this:

    How do I fix this?

Drag and drop a clip onto the New Item button. Like FCP, it will make a custom timeline for you. The only difference is that you, fist, drag and drop it onto the button and not into the sequence.

The first setting on the screenshot is editing mode. This is set to be optimized for a very specific input type, in this case AVC-Intra footage.

If you need greater control, or mix different kinds of footage, I suggest setting the editing mode to “Desktop”. You’ll be able to adjust every other setting to taste including preview file format.

Like the previous post mentioned, once you have a new project up and running you can drag your footage on the “new” icon and the sequence will conform to the footage’s properties.
