I recently shot a bunch of AVCHD footage on the Sony HXR_NX5U cam (all 1280×720 60p). The video looks great, but Premiere is having trouble with the audio. Inside Premiere CS4 4.2.1 the audio is scrambled and overmodulated, literally unusable. However, playback is fine on the camera and through windows media player (not to mention no problems in Edius).

Is premiere missing a codec, does the audio need to be converted? Will CS5 fix this? Help me please.

    thanks,

    Chris

Audio needs to be converted as CS4 does not handle LPCM.
For next projects set the camera to Dolby.
