Adobe Premiere & Sony HVR-M15U
I cannot seem to be able to capture footage with this Sony deck. I have turned the ilink off, went through the menu 100 times. The footage plays on a normal vtr- but adobe will not recognize it. i have tried setting it to serial device control ,editing the capture settings (this model is not in the drop down menu but whatever)… it will not recognize this unit. i am at my wits end. I know adobe states Premeire has “conditional support” for this unit- but what is that condition?? help?

If trying to capture HDV via 1394, here’s a few tips:
1) In deck settings, turn off “i.Link Convert”, as the default is to convert HDV to DV.
2) If there is a “VCR setting”, it may be on AUTO or DV – set it to HDV.
3). Turn deck OFF. Close Premiere. Turn deck ON again and wait for PC to recognize it. Launch Premiere and choose proper HDV preset. Capture.
