    Hi All

I had this old project which I needed to update. before couple of days the project was running ok, I did some edit and closed the project properly.

now when I open the project, I have 3 sequence in my project the two of them are my rough cuts and one sequence is my final edits from them only.

now in my rough cuts all works well. everything play good but my final edit sequence does not play at all. when I hit space bar the play icon turns to stop for a sec. and it stops automaticaly, if I scrub the timeline it shows the video frames changes in program view.

if I copy and pest any of the clip from final edit to rough cut seq. than that particular clip doesn’t play in that time line, and if I copy pest the rough cut clip which is playing all right in my final edit seq. that also doesn’t play..

I don’t understand the proble,, please help

Start a new Project and import the troubled one.

You may need to also clean the media cache from the Preferences. And restart PPro.

Then allow all the media indexing and conforming to take place before you start editing.

Let us know if the this works out for you as others may come across this same issue and would like to confirm the solution.

no same problem with the new project.

    any other options…

I really don’t understant how this can happen? same clip plays in one sequence and doesn’t play in other sequence. may be the sequence currupt?? if that can happen??

Are the sequence settings for the “master edit” sequence different than the other two?

What if you make a new sequence and copy-paste the material into it?

    Hi…

    I second Tim’s question…

Also what version of PPro did you originally do this project in?

Have you changed versions since trying to update the project?

Thanks to all for the answers

its CS4, my original project was on cs3 and I upgraded to cs4. and I was editing the project fine in cs4 also.

let me share this to you some how I manage to solve the problem by deleting newly added wav files because that was the only change I had made to project. still it didn’t worked for me, but I created again a new sequence after deleting new imported files and copy pasted old seq timeline to new seq. and it all worked fine then.

if someone can explain this solution, I just took a chance and I was lucky I feel.

the wave files were 48 stereo
    project is dv pal 48.

It sounds like something was wrong with those files that you added to the project and the sequence became corrupted.
