  Premiere CS4 capture screen won’t open

  I was capturing footage from mini dv tapes from my SONY GV-HD700 tape deck. all my settings are set the same since the 1st of the year. I’ve captured at least 50 hours of footage over the past year with no problems. Then the other day after capuring 7 hours of video I pressed the f5 key to capture the next tape and… nothing! I clicked on the file menu then I clicked on capture… again nothing! arrrrh! what gives? any help woud be appreciated.

  What OS are you using?? are you capturing DV or HDV? Have you looked in the device manager to see if the computer is seeing the deck? If set for DV it will be in a Imaging Device section, If HDV it will be in the Sound, Video controller section.
