  Trascoding AVHCD from Premiere

  Hello all,
  We are a small high school in Massachusetts working with some difficult software. Any help would be appreciated.
  Our problem:
  Shoot a football game with a Panasonic AG-HNC40P-Works great
  Place the .mts files in Premiere….Works great
  Add titles/transitions…Works Great
  Attempt to encode to DVD thru Encore…..Get the error message Transcoding Failed because the override is not set
  Attempted a two minute .mts video….same problem

  Is there a workflow out there that could help up??

  We are able to place the .mts file into Edius Neo and burn to DVD with no problem at all……Edius Neo is very limited compared to Premiere

  What version of Ppro/Encore are you using? Are you downconverting in Media Encoder before exporting to Encore?

  Premiere Pro CS4 w/Encore
  Please explain the process of “downconverting in Media Encoder”
  I don’t think we have done this…..we went straight to Encore

  There is no way to go straight from .mts file with a simple title added,,,,, to burning a DVD?

  You goto File Menu, Export, then Media, then select Mpeg2DVD, High Quality, under Output Name setup where you want it to go and its name, Audio: Dolby, multiplexing:None, etc, it will output two elemental streams you can open in a Encore project

  Thanks for the help….last question(I hope)
  What are we looking at for time? We are looking to put a High School Football game(two hours) to two DVD’s
  Am I looking at a good amount of time for Mpg2DVD encoding, and then a similar amount for burning to DVD?

  Depends on the computer you are using for the encode times, the faster the processor, the faster the encoding, burning to disk is dependent on the how fast the DVD burner is.
  Example on a fast core2 duo quad 3ghz the downconvert/encode time is a little less than one to one.

  Brian,
  I promise this will be last question on this subject. We really need direction.
  Computing power is not a problem: i7 950 (3.06GHz)/12Gig RAM DDR-1333/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 1.3 GB

  We encoded a two hour football game to the MPEG2DVD format…after 41 hours we shut it off…it stated it had another 36 hours left to encode.

  The .mts files we drop into premiere add up to two hours of video and have these stats: 1440 x 1080/29.97 Rate: 48000 Hz
  We add a simple title and want to burn to DVD. (Using Edius Neo and the Canopus encoder it takes about 3 hours to burn directly from project to DVD)

  What workflow should we use to complete this task? I want to migrate all our work to Adobe Premiere.

  I know that it has been some time since the post I am replying to but here is my work flow.
  I import my mts(AVCHD)files shot with a Canon Vixia H200 into Premiere Pro CS4. Once I edit the sequence the way I want then I use the Dynamic link function to send them to Encore. I have had no problems with the workflow. The transcoding in Encore takes some time (up to 2-3hours). Hope this helps
