Scene Detect by Content
Posted by Andrew Stone on September 14, 2010 at 5:18 pmOK so this has bothered me for a while, i get tapes without time code and can’t break them up into clips. So I spend a lot of wasted time dividing up the clips.
Today I was fed up and did some more research and found this.

Ok so scene detect by content is available for premiere elements, ok so IT HAS to be available in premiere pro right? Can someone show me how! cause I can’t find it.

September 14, 2010 at 9:19 pmSorry I am in CS4, and as for CS4 this is how you do scene detect if there is timecode breaks. I am looking to do it without timecode breaks, but instead by content!

September 14, 2010 at 9:34 pmAnn, that’s the conclusion I have been coming too. Which is extremely illogical and confusing seeing as premiere elements apparently has it.

September 14, 2010 at 9:36 pmWell Premiere Pro aint Elements.
If its DV you can have a look at Scnenalyzer.
It has an old freeware download on the site.

Or do the scene detect in Elements and import into Premiere. -

September 14, 2010 at 9:40 pmExactly pro should be better than elements, as it is a pro version….
And I tried Scenalyzer and it doesn’t seem to work on windows 7. I haven’t tried the live version yet.

September 14, 2010 at 10:59 pmWell, it is a brand new product and different than PPro. You can make a feature request for Scene Detect by Content here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
I will also make note of it and pass it along.
Thanks!

September 15, 2010 at 4:17 amYou can try HDV split and then import the files into Premiere Pro. It’s a freeware program that saves HD files as mts which can be read by premiere.

September 15, 2010 at 6:49 amElements can’t be to brand new, as it has the feature in v7 and 8 is what is on the website, its disappointing is all I am saying. You know hundreds of dollars compared to 80…
And unfortunately HDVsplit doesnt help as I am just doing SD footage, I did download it though and it seems like a nice program!
