  • Using AIFF files for audio, only resetting when sliced

Hi, I am using AIFF Audio in my project file that was cleaned up by a sound engineer. However, it seems that whenever I cut the audio and restart Premiere, the audio track where I cut restarts the entire track from there, this happens once or twice. This is becoming very annoying and I would like to know why this is happening and would I need to go to another format like wav to do this editing?

There is a known bug in Premiere Pro CS5 with AIFF files. See this document. The solution for the moment is to transcode audio to WAV or some other format.

There is a fix for this bug in the works.

Thanks. That’s very unfortunate that this is happening as I modified the audio for almost half of our film already with the corrected aif file. I will be changing to the converted wav file from this point and hopefully there will be no more mess ups.
