    Hello all,

this has been a problem i’ve been having in premeire for a little while now. I have a decent editing machiene, Vista 64 bit, 8 gigs of ram, Nvidia Geforce 9800 GT and production studio CS4.

When im editing a DV multi-cam sequence, a little into playback i get real choppy results, thats very hard to edit off of. Playback of the edited sequence is fine, but just the multi-cam monitor is going haywire with 3-4 clips in it.

I mean, its DV, so im not sure why this is happening. the monitor is set to high quality. Is there any workaround to this that anyone has found? Or, is anyone else even having this problem?

The only thing i can think of is i am editing off an external USB 2.0 drive, which, defiently probably would explain it, but still…

Any advice would be helpfull, thanks..

    Hi Tyle,

Remember that when you edit multicam, you are pulling multiple files from a drive at once. In some cases, you may actually need a RAID array, but a 7200 eSata or internal drive is definitely needed at the minimum.
