  problems with compression and burning to DVD. Adobe Suite

  Hello,

  I recently created a series of animations in After Effects, strung them together and compressed to mpeg2 in Premiere, then burned them to a DVD in Encore. Unfortunately my result was less than satisfactory. The final result is extremely pixelated and fuzzy. I feel the Adobe products should be capable of making a professional quality DVD. Professional quality is a must in this situation so any advice on changing my process would be great.

  Here is my current (flawed) method.

  The animations were created in After Effects in a HDTV 1080 29.97/ 16:9 (1.78) square pixels composition.

  I then dragged that Comp into a NTSC DV Widescreen preset Comp (D1/DV NTSC Widescreen 29.97 / 3:2 (1.82)) and rendered at lossless & best settings.

  Next I created a new project in Premiere with the DV-NTSC Widescreen 48kHz preset.

  Then I took the .mov files and imported them into Premiere, placed them in the same video timeline and immediately went to file/Export/Media.

  My compression settings were based off of the mPEG2-DVD format with a NTSC Widescreen High Quality Preset. I bumped the quality up to 5 and checked the Maximum Render Quality box. When I clicked on the Output tab for a preview, everything looked great so I exported.

  *This is where the loss of quality seems to be happening for me.

  Next I created a new project in Encore and imported my newly compressed mpeg2 files as a Timeline.

  Then I burned to a cd with the standard settings in Encore.

  I hope I described my process enough to warrant some feedback. I have the capabilities to use Final Cut Pro and Compressor if that will create a better quality of video.

  Another problem on top of the quality is when I play my videos through a DVD player on an HDTV, the top and bottom of the DVD image is cut off. Any suggestions on battling this problem are welcome as well.

  Make HD project in Premiere and drop your animation into that then export to mpeg2-dvd with max render quality on.
  Import into Encore and make dvd.

  Whenever I export the HD project to Mpeg2 in Premiere, I get two black bars on the edge of my video. What would be the correct way to remedy this problem?
