ram preview audio cutting out
Found a thread referring a bit to this a few weeks ago, but from my own end: quad g5, with a blackmagic extreme giving external monitoring of a hd 1920x1080i 50 comp. When i go to preview 10 seconds of the comp, the audio cuts out after 3 seconds or so, doesnt matter where the ram preview is set, still cuts out. Cuts out if output is set to the g5s own audio out, or through the decklink which runs out on xlr’s to a wee mixer with headphones. If i save the ram preview, all the audio is encoded with the video. Audio only previews, period on the numeric, work fine. Am i missing something, does anyone know?
If this is a bug, im really, really surprised adobe let it out the door.

Is your comp very complex? HD is very processor intensive, and how much ram do you have to use?

mmm. I dont think so. comp is 250 frames long, consists of an image sequence, one audio track, no effects & i have 3 gigs of ram. Plus ae7 is declaring a green line & playback at 25fps (i have it at half res). If this is a bug, im thinking other people would have encountered it, thats why im throwing this up on the cow. I’ll keep trying to troubleshoot this, but it seems sort of arbitrary. As i said: if this is a bug (and it may not be), but if it is im aghast.
we just relocated & have settled a department around AE7 for promos, titles & post production.flann

Some more basic stuff to try.. are all your drivers current? Have you tried unplugging your external equipment and see if that works?
Check with adobe and see if they have any ideas… Did the problem just start? If so think back to all of things that have changed since the problem started. If not… you could try reinstalling the app. but if this has been a problem for a while it is possible that it is a bug.Best of luck
