I’ve been working with .mov files (custom sized 1024×576) exported from After Effects cs4 to Premiere Pro cs4

In Premiere, the ‘source’ video however cannot be a custom size.. so I chose the preset PAL widescreen which strangely shows up as the proportion of 720×576 in the default Input options. When I export (using Sorenson 3) the default Input option interpolates to our custom Output size (1024×576) and the result is a very pixelated video though it does play smoothly.

How can I change the ‘source’ video size to match the size of my .mov files? I’ve tried going into Sequence Settings but the options are grayed out and I’m unable to change anything.

The proportion of 720×576 stubbornly will not go away even though I’ve tried creating New Sequence and selecting PAL widescreen.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks.

You need to create a new sequence with settings that match your source. In the New Sequence window, ignore the Presets and click on the General tab. Set the Editing mode to Desktop and the rest of the settings to match your source.
Sorenson 3 is an antiquated codec, suggest H264.
