How to adjust brightness of program monitor display?
I’ve been trying to find out for a long time now how to brighten the display in Premiere. I’ve adjusted my monitor (viewsonic va1912 wb)for correct gamma and color. But when I start premiere everything is too dark. Before I realized this I was over brightening videos thinking they were underexposed. If I adjust the monitor itself just for premiere using color bars, everything else is too bright. I have a Nvidia 8800 GTS graphics card. I can adjust other media player’s brightness like Windows Media Player in the NVidia control panel but it won’t work in Premiere.
Any advice?
Also as a side note: The color bars in the CS3 for DV settings doesn’t show 3 pluge bars. I read There is no Super Black bar because you can’t go below zero in a 0-255 color space. I can turn the brightness or gamma all the way up and I’ll only see 2 bars – one black and the other grey. What’s weird is that if I view the same bars on an external monitor or view the bars in the Premiere waveform there’s clearly 3 bars there.
