  matte/key help please.

  I took some rough looking underwater footage and I need to matte out everything but the person swimming. I’m using Final Cut Studio 3.

  Anyone know any methods? I don’t mind doing it frame by frame. I don’t mind buying a plugin. I don’t mind the torture. I just want to do it well. The biggest garbage matte I found was 50 point. and that’s not enough. Of course I’d rather key it out, but the color blue is all over the subject, and I keep losing most of him in the key.

  That is a job for After Effects and an animated mask with as many points as you need…tedious!

  Thank you much. That is all I needed to know. As it turns out my intern is good at that very thing and is doing a great job of it.
