After Effects Compositions
I have some embedded AE compositions in my timeline that are working great except for one thing: playback. My computer freezes when I play the timeline. The playhead gets to the compositions and just stops. My external display freezes but still plays the audio. I can’t go back through the timeline until the sequence finishes. Short of rendering and replacing the composition with the clip, is there anything I can do to help this? I noticed that Premiere doesn’t render Preview files for the compositions.

Unfortunately, that’s just the nature of things. The import is supposed to save you render time, but realtime preview probably won’t happen in most cases. In fact, I don’t even get realtime preview in many comp inside After Effect itself, so imagine Premiere.
