March 28, 2006 at 10:54 pmI don’t seem to understand the sound in AE either. I do all of the sound editing in Premiere.

March 29, 2006 at 5:20 amYeah Im on a PC at work. Its freaking so frustrating. Ever time error, error, error, error. ADOBE uhhh….fix please. I hate having to go into an AVID just to lay down a track or a couple sound effects. doooods

March 29, 2006 at 5:57 amI don’t quite follow. AE is primarily a comping app and personally I never understood why it tries to work with sound beyond rendering effectzs such as Audio Spektrum etc.. If you have an Avid, I don’t see the problem. Why wouldn#t you want to work there if all the things can be done interactively while in AE you always need to do a preview to check things?

March 29, 2006 at 6:12 amBecause it would be nice to sit in front of After Effects and tweak layers according to a sound effect hit. Have the time I cant because i get sound errors

March 29, 2006 at 10:59 amAnyone who knows me in the least, knows that I am a sound freak. Most of what I work on in some way relates to audio. Last year I produced two major CDs that are available worldwide. I say that only because, as a sound freak, I love After Effects and can’t recall the last time I had an issue with sound while in it.
But I don’t try to mix down records in it and I don’t try to do multi-layered sound effects mastering projects either.
With people like Andrew Kramer, Mylenium, Dave LaRonde and others expressing opposing opinions to your own, it would seem that we’ve isolated where the problem lies, dooood.

yikes! are you kidding me? i love after effects too (and i do a lot of audio in logic etc), but i always have an issue with audio and the way it’s implemented in afx. it sounds fine, but the difficulty of previewing any real-time audio with pic in after effects is really a massive time-waster and having to render and rerender and rerender the same audio every time you roll a preview (even when nothing is changed) adds a fair amount of dead time to every project. (who doesn’t work with audio in after effects at this point in the game?) it’s not very well worked out, extremely slow and is on the top of my wish list for afx changes or fixes.
