I’m using PPro CS2 for now (Matrox RT .x100 won’t allow you to upgrade to CS4). Whenever I have a video on a timeline with titles above on video layer 2, they either freeze or all say the thing or they don’t show up at all or they show up as a still frame of video from somewhere else in the timeline.

The only way they will clear or go back to functioning, is to open the title and backspace then save it again. What gives here? Is it Premiere or the Matrox? Does anyone use a Matrox card along with Premiere? I can’t join the Matrox BB since I bought it used on ebay and cannot register it with Matrox.

You can easily test this. Make some titles in a non Matrox project and see if you have the same issue, if not it is Matrox.
Have you installed all the updates for the Matrox? Probably not.
Contact Matrox and tell them your situation.

    Ann,
I do have the latest updates. Matrox only took the RT.x100 so far with PPro CS2. After that, they came out with the RT.x2 card. That’s why I’m only using CS2 for now. I bought the CS4 upgrade, but until I can build an HD computer and afford the RT.x2 HD card, I’m only working in SD with CS2 and the RT.x100.

Since I bought the Matrox card second hand, the seller didn’t give me any paperwork on it, so I’m not sure Matrox will even talk with me.
Besides, I’m not going to create a full 90 min. long video project just to test Premiere itself! Any short videos don’t seem to do it. It’s when I’m editing a full wedding or something that the problem comes up.

As you cannot register you can still read the Matrox Forum. When building a new machine i would leave the rtx2 out. Imo waist of money. How many of the Matrox effects do you really use? I have a i7/940 12 gig ram. I edit HDV like dv, no preview rendering for Magic Bullet Looks, and that counts for something.
CS5 will be coming along and who knows the rtx2 will still be supported.

Did you ever figure out how to get the titles to work?
