Quicktime settings in CS4…
I have a client who’s video department is asking for footage to be delivered as a “1920×1080 Quicktime wrapped self-contained DVCPRO HD 100” file. In CS4 when I go to export a 1920 by 1080 HD timeline sequence, I can set it to be a Quicktime file, and select “DVC PRO”, but this restricts the file size to 720×480. Anyone know how I export from CS4 the way these guys want it? In CS3, using the exact same settings, I was able to change the video size to 1920 by 1080. In CS4, as far as I can tell, I can’t.

Are you running Mac OS or Windows? From what I know, DVCPRO HD is a Mac proprietary format included with FCP Studio 2, so if you’re rendering from a PC or an older version of FCP, you’re stuck with whatever HD formats your system has installed. I’m assuming though that you’re on a Mac since I’ve never come across DVC anything whilst exporting in the PC world. In whichever case, if it’s not installed, you’ve got to find another format. The Avid DnxHD codec is pretty good and should be roughly comparable in file size, though I’ve had problems with alpha channels when rendering from non-Avid apps.

You can save as various flavors of DVCpro, you have to select P2 Movie, and it will save as a .MXF, I don’t know if it will do you any good.
