We are looking for a Date/Time reader plug-in for Premiere CS4. It would need to be able to read and display the date/time info embedded in the AVCHD files our cameras produce. The embedded date/time info should be burned into the downconvert to SD Mpeg 2, as this is what we give our legal clients. We have been doing a workaround for quite some time. I remember DV Date back in the Premiere 1.5 days but could not find if this application is now standalone, a plugin for CS4 or if it works with AVCHD. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We recently purchased this software, but are having issues with it as it seems to be inconsistent between clips. Also, it is not a plug-in for Premiere CS4. Will report back if we get it working correctly.

Can you explain what the problem is? Is the date and time not displaying correctly?

If you have AE, I believe there’s a timestamp effect: I know it’s not as hands-off as you were probably looking for, but setting 4-6 digits per clip isn’t too strenuous.

I will check with my production manager on Monday re. the ongoing issues and will have him respond. Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, AE does have timecode overlay, as does Premiere. What I am really looking for is a way to view the existing date/time stamp that was recorded in camera on the original AVCHD clips, while in Premiere Pro, before exporting to Media Encoder. It needs to stay with the downconvert to DV, visible to the legal firm for review after burning to DVD.
