Having issues getting windows 7 / ppro to recognize my HDR-FX1 camera. Does not even recognize the device is plugged in to the IEE wire. Everything worked fine before i instanlled windows 7. All my windows updates and ppro updates are current. Any other suggestions? Thanks

If your FW ports are on your mother board, you may need to install motherboard drivers appropriate to W7…and FireWire may not be all you need to look at.

Are you sure that your BIOS is setup properly for W7? USB? Audio card? Anything that needs hardware drivers may need attention.

    I like new, fast OSs…

I hate slow, painful transitions to new, fast OSs…

    -sigh-

My high speed usb and memory card slots are all on the same bus, they all seem to work fine. I will look into the Win 7 drivers, but the I.T guy that installed windows assured me all the drivers were up to date. Does anyone know of any issues with Sony prosumer cams with win 7? Thanks

There is a problem with what firewire driver win7 loads, this may not solve the problem for some but it does cure for others.

The firewire drivers in win7 have been updated so of course they are the latest, thats the problem, sometimes you can go in a change drivers and load the generic legacy driver and cure the problem, its just as easy to delete the firewire driver in the device manager and let win7 reload the driver with the cam on when computer is restarted.
