  Premiere CS3 on Win7 sluggish with firewire

  Just got new HP quadcore 6gig RAM, Windows7 Machine with CS3. Premiere takes forever to import and “index” files from firewire drive. Editing video on other machines works fine with this drive. This machine works great with video stored locally. Are there any known issues with Windows7/CS3/firewire compatibility?

  Here is a quote from the Adobe Knowledge Base

  “Note: Adobe doesn’t recommend FireWire disk drives for use with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3.”
